Hollywood Golf Club: Modern Golf Course Map
Hollywood Golf Club: Modern Golf Course Map
Hollywood Golf Club in Deal, New Jersey is a study in classic golf rhythm, and this refined map captures its character with poise and clarity. Set within a wide field of calming negative space, the course stretches confidently from left to right, its fairways rendered as elegant, moss-green corridors that trace the club’s storied lineage — acknowledged in the print’s understated “1898” mark. The effect is both modern and nostalgic: a piece that reads as stylish wall art while preserving the strategic heartbeat of an historic course.
Look closely and the routing reveals a beautiful cadence. In the left and central sections, a compact sequence of parallel and diagonal holes creates a tightly knit tapestry of play, while to the far right the layout opens out, with two long, angled fairways running in close companionship. A strong, vertical hole at the far left stands like a visual bookend, giving the composition a sense of balance and momentum across the page. The generous white space around the diagram heightens that feeling of order and calm, letting each hole breathe.
Sculpted bunkers — expressed as muted, sandy-beige shapes — bring texture and nuance to the print. Their densest clusters gather around green complexes and at fairway bends through the central band, where strategy is at its most intricate. Greens are picked out in a subtly lighter tone, rounding off each hole with soft geometry, while a distinctive hooked, crescent-like composition in the lower centre introduces a pleasing counter-shape among the straighter corridors. From above, the interplay of green fairways, pale sand, and quiet background feels both graphic and unmistakably “golf.”
A slender blue stream threads diagonally through the right-hand portion of the course, the map’s only cool-toned accent. It introduces just enough tension to suggest how water shapes decision-making without overwhelming the layout’s classical understatement. For members, visitors, and anyone with an affinity for New Jersey golf, this is a thoughtful tribute — a clean, contemporary celebration of the course’s flow, its subtle hazards, and the memories made on its fairways.
